•Paralleled: Amorphous Abstraction and Socially Conscious Artwork, at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, in Denver, CO, opens February 8th.

"The West Gallery showcases amorphous abstract work, which challenges the viewer with the dialogue of the abstract.  Abstract works include ceramic sculptures by

Scott Chamberlin, oil paintings by Homare Ikeda, and sculptures made with pantyhose by John McEnroe. The works in the West Gallery were selected for their ability to

inspire a conceptual dialogue that encourages the viewer to draw their own associations and conclusions.

The East Gallery showcases socially conscious works that reflect on current issues that shape contemporary culture.

Showcased work of this genre includes Richard Notkin’s tile works, Yumi Roth’s barrier pieces, Scott Johnson’s high definition

video installation, and Jess Larson’s hand made girdles. The works in the East Gallery were selected for the poignant

messages that the artists convey to the viewer through their imagery.

Paralleled: Amorphous Abstraction and Socially Conscious Artwork is an exhibition that celebrates the many different ways,

both in media and imagery, that artists express their conceptual voices through their work."
